Darkness Falling...

...He cried in a whisper at some image, at some vision, he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath, " The horror, the horror!"

Beautiful colors. The sharp color contrast between the top and bottom portions of the picture compliment the lack of any sharpness in the detail of the photo.
Dave Carrington: Hi, Jewlya. This was exactly my intention here: I've softened up the original shot with various blur layers.

I didn't see any horror either, at least until I read the quotation. I suppose it is there once you see it. Otherwise it's just rather beautiful.
Dave Carrington: Hi, Ian. The quotation is from 'Heart Of Darkness' by Conrad. The film 'Apocalypse Now!' was based upon it & this image reminded me of the dark journey upriver to find & assasinate Kurtz, whose last words these are.
Could be a rival to the Northern Lights, well seen Dave, very you!
At last, all weekend only the top quarter would download. This morning my internet connection has given me the lot! Well worth keeping on trying!
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Jose. Glad you like it!
