Wow. This roof has gone totally wild. Love the shot very much. Moving the chimney a bit away from the edge of the frame might make the image even stronger.
Dave Carrington: Agreed, Viktor. Totally wild is my cup of meat...
Spot on Dave.
Dave Carrington: Ta, Mick. Get those Windermere shots up...
DC I have to say I think this would be infinitely stronger as a square crop without the chimney, the colours are striking and it has such a gorgeous almost painterly feel to it, top shot old fella...
Dave Carrington: Hey, Stranger! How's it going? I did think about a crop, but left the old chimney in for a title!! Now I look at it, you could be right...
old fella...oi, that's Digi!
Dave I like this very much
Dave Carrington: Thanks for visiting & glad you found something you like, vintage!
Great composition Dave - I have to say I totally disagree with Shooter's comments - that would be an entirely different image alltogether, but for me, the chimney adds a dynamic contrast. Not so keen on the processing though - this looks a little heavy-handed to me! I'd be interested to see it in a more natural state.
Ingrid
Dave Carrington: Hi, Ingrid. Welcome & constuctive comment: I know this PP style is not 'En Vogue' at the mo, but I like it for it's artistic range. As for the chimney: I agree & it gives the shot it's title!
Fantastic shot, love the processing as it really makes the different shades on the tiles stand out. And I like the chimney in the shot.
Dave Carrington: Cheers, Matey. The original shot was uniform orange/ red & flat: PP has lifted the tones.
Nice. I like this.
Agree about the chimney, but realise it might not be possible because of rooftop clutter to the side of it
Dave Carrington: Hi, Ellie: yes & yes! Maybe Shooter is right: chop it out altogether?
Brilliant shot with great colours . love it. :o) John
Dave Carrington: Thanks, John: glad you like it!
I like this Dave but would flip it horizontally and have the chimney on the left and the tiles running diagonally bottom left to top right...mind you I am left handed!
Dave Carrington: Fair comment, Bill. I'm ambiantidexterous: clumsy as a 3 legged horse with both hands!
I really like this, it looks like bamboo
and i think the chimney should stay.
Dave Carrington: Hey, you. I am the chimney..
Colours and composition are striking.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Nig!
