photoblog image Firework

Firework

Taken last night at the International Fireworks competion in Blackpool.  Fireworks are notoriously difficult to capture & being hungover & lazy, I couldn't be bothered to lug my 'pod: big mistake.

I posted this because  it has an abstract feel that barely resembles what it actually is! I also tried an inverted version which worked fairly well, but I see somebody else beat me to it..:~)

Hi Dave: I have heard some excuses for not taking your tripod but that beats them all! Well, all I can say is that it is a damn sight more interesting that my tripod effort!

Good to meet you last night, pity we got split up in the dissorganised chaos! Dave an I nearly ended up in Bispham. I wish I had gone round to the Tower side.
Dave Carrington: Praise indeed, Alistair, and great to meet you too!
Sunday was a bit of a melee: I'd arranged to meet two of my daughters as well as hoping to shoot some stuff: didn't find them & most of my shots were tosh in the end!!

I've got to say Redshift, I would not have believed that this image was a fire work, normaly firework shots bore me but really like this one, it's almost like water! Nice one
Dave Carrington: Cheers, Mal. I took around 40 shots: all tripe except this one. Its been cropped right down to this small detail which really stood out.
