Runway

Went for a  pleasant wander around Lytham St. Annes with Alistair Parker yesterday. I took loads of stuff, but this is probably my favourite because of the light. More to follow...

PP: colours, curves, shadows tweaked.

Oh ! great picture, graphic, colourful, a good angle for the perspective. Exposure is well balanced too. Infinity. Beautiful, really.
Dave Carrington: Thank you, Florence.

It's gorgeous, a study in perfect balance. Even the little distant x has a counter point on the left side. Light, shadow, color and details perfect (imho).
Dave Carrington: Glad you like it, Shanti!

lovely symmetry and light. just great
Dave Carrington: Your comments are always welcome, nev. Cheers!
You caught this well, Dave. I wondered what you would put up. We wasted all those pixels on autumnal stuff and it was the sunset we nearly missed that came up trumps.

The weird thing about this image is it is a different colour every time I look at it. One titchy suggestion I think it looks even more wicked with 20 px or so crop off the top, what do you think?
Dave Carrington: Yep: yet I'll certainly salvage something from the rest of the afternoon. Re. the crop: Think you're right..:~wink

How on earth could you have had a "pleasant" wander with Digi! Hee hee (sorry Digi).

Another beautiful image Dave. Good work. Mal
Dave Carrington: LOL: what's Digi ever done to you, anyway? Glad you like the shot, Mal!
Great composition! Those complementary colors in both the sky and walkway really make this photo amazing! I love it! The signpost on the right of the photo, although very subtle, does add a strong element to the photo.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Suzanne, for an objective comment. I'm glad you like the shot!

Knew where this was as soon as I saw it. Wish it looked like this now instead of howlers blowing in everyday depositing flotsam and jetsam all over it! This is one of the loveliest images of the jetty at Lytham I've seen. I do agree with Alistair though, I'd make the horizon line dead centre if it was mine.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, jose, for a constructive comment: Alistair knows his stuff & you should check out his blog, digiphotology, if you haven't already.
Wow - what stunning work. I can't get over these colors. Absolutely beautiful photo. I can't remark on anything bad about the photo itself. You start literally at your feet and make the photo seem to be endless, just beautiful!
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Jen. It's always great when you get a belated comment like this: it shows you've had a proper, critical backtrack through someone's work! smile
