photoblog image Stormy Monday...

Stormy Monday...

...But Tuesday's just as bad.

This was taken in bad light, it's not a great shot, but I like the atmosphere: you will probably disagree...

I' ve borrowed the title from a great old Blues song: my kind of noise!

Wow - A very scary weather !!!!!
Dave Carrington: Bonjour, Zebi. Definitely a very scary weather! smile
Is that the Morecambe Bay Gas rig going up?????
Dave Carrington: Hi, David. No, i guess it's not, but, a couple of days after this shot was taken, I happened to be on the prom when a prototype super-tram DID go up: the fun just never stops in this Metropolis of the North...
Armageddon is coming and it will start in Blackpool!
To be honest i always suspected Blackpool was the portal to hell so there is no surprise there.
Dave Carrington: LOL: the portal you refer to is called Starr Gate!

I think David has a point! grin Wouldn't like to be under that when it came down. Glad you posted it, you're not doing yourself justice.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, jose. The original shot without the PP was pretty ordinary: it's certainly an improvement !

Try this. Grab vertical scroll bar and scroll down ...and up ... and down. You can change the letterbox effect and see what effect it has on the composition. Certainly changes the impact!
Reminds me of Turner's watercolours. The picture was there and you've caught it really well. Nice one!
Dave Carrington: Hi, Ron. I'm a big fan of Mr. J.M.W, so this is praise indeed. As I have mentioned in the past, I do try to get a 'painterly' feel to a lot of my stuff.
I just love this photo - and the atmosphere in it. Brilliant! Did the storm ever arrive or did this just fade away to nothing?
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Sheila: glad you like it! The storm was moving south, so probably hit North Wales eventually.
I think cropping the bright bit off the top improves what is already a great photograph.
Dave Carrington: Hi, Alistair: now that you mention it...Yes, you're right, as usual! smile
Suitable for f[r]aming!
Dave Carrington: Thanks for taking your time to look & commenting: it's much appreciated!
