The Shangri-La's, sand between your toes, being small, taking off your plastic sandles, paddling, cold feet: all those memories evoked just for you, Dear viewer!

How appropriate, Man (Good) Friday. I used to hate sand anywhere, toes, sandwiches or carpets in the car!

You caught the light just right.

Hope the back is improving?
Dave Carrington: I thought about the 'Friday' theme & decided it might be a bit corny!

Yes, sand is best kept on the beach!

Back is on the mend! Probably thanks to all that yomping about last Tuesday smile
Interesting idea and good execution. I think this one screams for b/w, though.
Dave Carrington: Yes, B/W would be cool. My first pic on Shutter was just that!

Plastic sandals from Woolies eh, tell the kids today and they just laugh at you, always had a problem with the beach when the brown sediment often found between the ridges of sand was called 'estuary mud' we all now know it was poo!
Dave Carrington: Ha! The term 'estuary mud' always amused me as a kid. Polite Aunts, geography teachers & others ignorant of the aweful truth would use the term, but we knew the reality: the coast was awash with industrial qhantities of poo, as you so delicately put it! smile

I have a memory burned into my mind of a Blackpool Councillor being interviewed on 'Look North', probably in the late Seventies, claiming that the beach & seawater were clean & to prove it proceeded to drink a glass of fresh seawater! Hope you've not eaten yet smile
love those long, long shadows - speaks of kids getting the very last out of the day on the beach.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Jose: that's exactly who left the footprint! I had a fleece & boots on, but two little kids were refusing to be denied their fun!
