Vertibrate Organ

This is a tide organ: as the tide comes in, the water forces air through a series of pipes which then create musical notes. Probably one of the best & clever artworks to be found on Blackpool's south promenade.

WOW!! Fantastic. I SO wish I could hear it.
It looks Viking-like and totally amazing against that boiling red sky.
Exciting!! (I feel inspired to attempt to make a small version of this for my garden. I wonder if it would work using violin strings?)
Dave Carrington: It makes an interesting & unearthly sort of noise!
A Viking organ...now there's a thing! smile

Great treatment. wonderful shot. nice vapour trail in there as well
Dave Carrington: Cheers, Nev. It's almost impossible to shoot sky without one these days...
I would like to hear it too. If it sounds great it would match the photograph.
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Mary. Praise indeed that's always welcome smile

I like this shot for its simplicity and the warm sky. I am also intrigued by the concept of a tide organ.
Dave Carrington: Hi, Martin: yes, it's a great concept. I must admit I have 'enhanced' the sky somewhat..! Glad you like the shot smile
You've made Blackpool feel really exciting! I didn't realise that it was a musical instrument! That blood red sky is...unbelievable!
Dave Carrington: Hi, Jose. I'm honoured to think I've made Blackpool exciting: it's not that easy smile
I've tweaked the sky, so there's a little artistic licence @ work here!

I thought it resembled an over-tall prow of a longboat. Love the idea of what it really is though, "they" can have clever ideas if they try really hard.

Love the colour of the sky too, and the silhouette, and the way you've composed the picture smile
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Ellie. Always a pleasure to hear your comments smile

Fantastic Dave, composition is perfect but this tone is bonkers! Were you using a red filter in colour mode? mal
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Mal. I used channel-mixer to alter the colours.
It's certainly a shot which grabs your attention, love the composition and the PP...
Dave Carrington: Thanks, shoot!
Ah the Honky Donkey organ, when the waves start lapping at its tubes it warns all the Donkeys to run off the beach and gather around its base, fantastic invention, credit to ReBlackpool, photos not too bad either.........
