Swell

I took this on Wednesday at high tide in a howling gale by the side of Blackpool's north pier, from which I'd just been told to leave, along with a few like-minded snappers, in no uncertain terms by the pier manager: spoilsport! The views &  light were spectacular!

Dave Carrington: Seems my famous rep counts for nowt...mind you, the other geezers there seemed a bit dodgey...hope they weren't Digi's Poulton Camera club mates? smilesmile No offense, Al! smile
bet you obeyed him straight away Dave like the true law abiding guy you are smile
great movement and colour. richard
Dave Carrington: Of course I did. I am nothing if not a true, law abiding type geezer, don't you know? smile
Very crisp Dave, did you not tell him it was your pier and that you had more photographs of it than he did!
Dave Carrington: That is in fact true, yet not persuasive enough a reason! I got better shots away from his his pier anyway! smile

Excellent capture of the waves!
Dave Carrington: Glad you like it, Martie smile
Not sure who all these others are that are referred to in your comments but anyway what a great and very strong photo you have put up here, and the lighting is excellent with just a hint of sunshine on the left.
Dave Carrington: I've never come across the other snappers before, Brian, but I hope they got some decent shots! Glad you like this one smile

Great shot. So much life in something so unalive.
Dave Carrington: There's so much energy here: why don't we use it?

We have a nice pier and big waves at North Shields if you're really keen on getting yourself drownded. Good pic.
Dave Carrington: LOL! Love being drownded! smile

Thanks for your sponsorship Dave, very much appreciated.

p.s. I finally got around to printing that shot of yours. http://www.redshift.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Low_light_/

The image is perfect printed but Photobox have made it quite dark so I'm going to ask for a re-print. My monitor is Huey calibrated so I'm surprised although I have previously seen a difference between 6x4 prints and their enlargements.

It will be on the wall...eventually!!

Cheers
Simon
Dave Carrington: Run it with my blessing, Simon: hope you finish! Let me know..smile
