Have no idea how you come up with this title, but I really like this painting.
Dave Carrington: I wish it was a painting, Viktor: I had written a paragraph to go with this shot about how this digital medium makes one lazy. I still want to paint & will one day: as for the title...I'm saying nothing that will incriminate me.
very interesting...
Dave Carrington: Thanks, Thomas!
I know saying it is interesting usually means "I don't like it" but it is interesting and I do like it. As for the title well the memory plays funny tricks sometimestongue
Dave Carrington: Har! Memory is a strange device: all the information is retained, but sometimes it becomes distorted over a long period of time! smile

I would have been interested to read your paragraph - I agree wholeheartedly about what you say about digital. It is a wonderful thing but it certainly makes you lazy - if one shot doesn't work, not to worry - you can delete it again and again. It stops you looking closely at what you are taking. Your comment about wanting to paint one day is also very telling - this kind of shot is just an imitation of painting but photography does it so much better. Sorry to rant on, but you might have known I wouldn't care for this one in its present state!
Ingrid
Dave Carrington: Interesting comment, Ingrid. The medium is irrelevant: it's the resulting image that counts. Is it the PP that that you don't care for? Personally, I like the versatility and artistic scope that can be utilised by 'twiddling' with a photo!

Oh this is a super one. The colors are so rich and the shapes, lines, and light drive me visually wild.

The medium is rather immaterial to me. More important for me, is the creative process, the ability for someone to expressive an idea or thought, and the interaction the process or outcome evokes from others.
Dave Carrington: Couldn't agree more, Kathryn. The evocation instilled in the viewer is what counts: like it or loathe it.

Returned to this a few more times. I guess the color palette and the shapes is what draws me to it. Maybe something else as well, a composition, for example. I would definitely like to paint something like this one day.
I would disagree that digital make people lazy. Easier to work with, yes. Economical, yes. I'm with Kathryn here, who cares about the medium? It's all in what you say and the emotional charge in it.
Love the image, Dave.
Dave Carrington: You are right, Viktor: painting would be be great to get back into, but for now this works for me...

Just had a look in the Karma Sutra and this position is not in it,this is a new one on me, will give you a pot of paint and brush on Wednesday.
Dave Carrington: Har! I'd probably paint something obscene on the side of the plant & be promptly sacked!! smile

I am back again too, Dave. This one sets me on fire. Love it.
Dave Carrington: Hey, Kathryn! Glad it's provoked a reaction: I'm really pleased you like it enough to come back to visit & pass comment. Thank you very much!

Really?! It must be one of your paintings, and you were dreaming, right... I like it! :O)
Dave Carrington: Glad you like it, Lolly!
